The Fairfax Swimming Pool is home to the record-setting Fairfax Frogs Swim and Dive team and our fabulous Tadpoles!  The team is a member of the Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL).  Swim, Dive, and Tadpole members are encouraged to have fun while developing a love for their sport, working as part of a team, and practicing good sportsmanship. Being a part of the swim and/or dive teams is a lot of fun and often the beginning of lifelong friendships. In addition to enjoyable practices and exciting meets, many social activities (including Pep Rallies, Fun Fridays, and Secret Pals Week) are planned throughout the season to further build camaraderie among the team members and parents.

Who Can Join The Frogs Swim and Dive Teams and Tadpoles?

Participation in any of the teams requires a family stockholding membership at the Fairfax Swimming Pool. Limited Family members are also eligible for our Swim and Dive Teams and Tadpoles. Visit the Fairfax Swimming Pool website for more information about joining the Fairfax Swimming Pool.

Swim Team participants must be able to swim unassisted across the length of the pool (25 meters).

Dive Team participants must be willing to go off the board, be able to swim to the side of the pool, and be able to listen to the coaches and follow their directions.

The Tadpole Program is designed for children who are 4 to 8 years-old and working toward being on the swim team. Visit the Tadpole section of our website to see if your young swimmer is ready for Tadpoles!

All new 8-and-under swim team members will attend an evaluation to determine which group would be best for them - Swim Team or Tadpoles.

Registration Fees

Registration for both the swim and dive teams and Tadpoles is done through Swimtopia. One thing parents love about the Frogs is that ONE team registration fee allows participation for swim AND dive – and practice times are set to allow kids to participate in both teams if they choose. (Tadpole registration is specific to the Tadpole program.)

2026 Swim and Dive Fees

$200 one swimmer/diver

$360 for two swimmers/divers

$495 for three swimmers/divers

$565 for four or more swimmers/divers

** Note - Fees for swim and dive registrations received after May 30th will increase by $10.

Concessions Fee

A $10 fee, per swim and dive team member, for start up costs for the snack bar.

2026 Tadpole Fees

$175 per Tadpole

Volunteering Makes It All Happen!

The success of the Frogs Swim, Dive, and Tadpole programs depends on a large and active network of volunteers. Meets can require 40 or more people with jobs ranging from timing to working at the concession stand. Many non-meet opportunities are available, as well. In short, there is a job for everyone – no matter what your skills are! Parents of swimmers are required to volunteer at no fewer than four swim meets during the season and dive parents are also required to volunteer (specific requirements will be shared as the season comes closer).

Communication

The primary means of communicating swim and dive team news is via e-mail and this website. Additionally, each family with a swim and/or dive team member has a Family Folder in the team filing cabinet in the guards' office. Please check it often as you never know what you might find in there!
