2017 Swim Team Practice Schedule
Swimmers are strongly encouraged to attend as many practices as possible throughout the swim season and must attend the practice scheduled for their age. Additionally, swimmers must make every attempt to attend at least one team practice each week to be considered for that Saturday's NVSL dual-meet.
This summer, practices begin on Tuesday, May 30th! Before school is out for the summer, practices will take place in the evening. After school is out, practices will be held in the mornings. (Please note that practice times are set to allow kids to participate in both the swim and dive teams if they choose.)
Please also take a moment to read the important safety reminders below the schedule.

This opportunity is not meant to replace morning practice. Registration is required in advance and is on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a few instances where Wednesday evening practice will not be available and another day that week will be chosen. Registration information will be forthcoming in June.
Important Safety Reminders
NOTE FOR 8 & UNDER PARENTS: All 8 & Unders must be accompanied by a responsible individual at least 15 years of age or older during practice. The coaches are responsible for the swimmers/divers when they are in the water and on the boards but, they cannot monitor the swimmers/divers out of the water or off the boards, e.g., if a child gets out of the water, or leaves dive practice, to go to the bathroom and never comes back to practice, the coaches might not notice because they are focused on the swimmers/divers in the water and on the boards. Thanks for your cooperation with this - we want everyone to have a fun and safe summer.
BABY POOL IS CLOSED DURING AM PRACTICES: The pool is not open in the morning to the general pool membership. It is only open for swim and dive practice and the Tadpole program.
!!SAFETY!!: Due to the risk associated with swimming pools, swim and dive team members are only allowed in the water and on the boards when it is their particular practice time. They are NOT allowed to get in the water or on the boards at any other time during practices. Swim and dive team members are only allowed on deck during their particular practices. They are NOT allowed on deck at any other time during practices.
PARENTS: During AM practice, parents are NOT allowed on deck. What does this mean? Parents should not be on the deck area where the coaches are running the practices - standing or sitting in chairs. Parents should not approach the water or the boards to talk to their swimmer/diver nor should parents approach the coaches during practice. EXCEPTIONS: Your swimmer/diver is injured or upset or one of the coaches or the team rep lets you know that you are needed by your swimmer/diver.
Parents may sit in the lounge chairs at the opposite end of the pool away from the diving well (in the shade - bonus!), in the tadpole area, in the grassy area and anywhere on the upper deck area around the pavilion. You may also sit in the pavilion (more shade!).
If you have any concerns or questions during practice, please talk to Kristen Singletary or Cathy Ottomanelli. They will gladly help you.
