Volunteering

It takes many volunteers to ensure a successful swim and dive season and all families should be prepared to volunteer. The great news is that there are a variety of opportunities during the meets, practices, and behind the scenes. This year we have assigned point values to the positions and will be looking for each family to accrue at least 30 points. We are asking families to select at least three volunteer roles that are of interest to them during registration. You are not committed to these roles, it just gives the reps an idea of where your interests lie. Some positions require training - but it is available at no cost!! Please thoughtfully consider how you can contribute to making this season a great one for our Frog athletes.

Meet Official positions (including Starter, Stroke and Turn, and Referee for swim, as well as Judges and Referees for dive) require specific training that is hosted by the league. The schedules for these training clinics are below. Thank you in advance for considering how you'll be able to help this summer.

2025 Dive Officials Clinic Schedule

The Frog Dive Team needs meet volunteers! The following clinics are offered by NVSL to those who would like to help out at our meets. Here are descriptions of the volunteer positions:

Table Worker

Option 1 - Must be able to write down 5 numbers, cross out the high and low numbers, and add the remaining 3 numbers together.

Option 2 – Must be able to use a calculator or sliding table to multiply the score by the degree of difficulty and keep a running total.

Announcer

Announces the diver, the dive, the degree of difficulty, the scores, and the results.

Judge

Judges are not required to have any training, however…. the NVSL offers several judging clinics at the beginning of the season. The team also has a judging video and guidelines available for those who are interested. A judge must be over 18 years old.

Referee

Referees must have judged for 1 year in the NVSL and have taken the NVSL referee training course.  Starting this year, there will be a referee clinic after the first meet of the season, thus qualifying anyone who judged at the meet to be eligible to attend this season's referee clinic.  The course must be retaken every 2 years.
